The Safe Working at Heights & Fall Arrest Equipment Training programme is designed to ensure employers meet their obligations under the Working at Height Regulations 2007 and is independently approved by IOSH, CIF, CITB (NI) & IPAF.
The programme establishes that the basis for undertaking any height work activities must include the hierarchal risk assessment process Avoid, Prevent, Mitigate and from there the most appropriate method of work can be identified. The programme examines the options available such as ladder work, temporary platforms (scaffolding, MEWP's etc.) and mitigating systems (safety nets, soft landing systems) and finally the PPE solution.

Course Objectives

On completion of this programme participants will be able to:
• List the regulations applicable to working at height and the wearing of a harness
• Work safely at height
• Don a harness and fit correctly
• Care and maintain equipment

Course Programme

EN 365 demands an inspection regime prior to use. HSA/HSE guidance document 2002 on steps to ensure the safe use of fall arrest protection equipment demands employers must ensure users are fully trained on the following:
  • Fitting
  • Use
  • Attachment
  • Inspection
  • Care, Maintenance
  • Storage
  • Post check
  • Course Review and Close

Method of Training

The theoretical input and practical demonstrations on this course is presented in an interactive manner using discussion and group feedback.
Practical exercises throughout the course reinforce the training.
 
English is the language in which training is delivered and participants must have a good command of the English language. If participants wish to bring an interpreter they may do so but prior notice must be given to Anderco.

• Organisations must provide their own equipment. (Tested and certified)
• Anderco may be able to supply equipment at an additional charge.
