Course Objectives

On successful completion of the course participants will be able to:
  • State the importance of creating & maintaining a safe & healthy workplace
  • Describe the main features of Irish Health & Safety legislation
  • Explain the role of managers & supervisors in relation to health & safety
  • Identify hazards and take corrective action
  • Manage hazards in the workplace
  • Use successful safety motivation and communication techniques
  • Describe the importance of routine workplace inspections
  • Investigate accidents and recommend preventative measures
  • Identify key areas of safety management systems

Method of Training

Each delegate receives a workbook that includes sections for notes and Q&A sessions.
The course will be delivered in a classroom by presentation and discussions. Individuals quiz, team exercises, board game, flipchart and DVD are used throughout the course

Please Note

Mileage @ €0.50 per km and accommodation @ €100 per night may be charged for courses.

English is the language in which training is delivered and participants must have a good command of the English language. If participants wish to bring an interpreter they may do so but prior notice must be given to Anderco.

Assessment / Certification

Understanding of the course is evaluated by means of a multi-choice assessment paper and a project. Successful completion of the programme results in the award of an IOSH certificate.
