This one day course is specifically designed for Child-carers, Parents, Grandparents, Babysitters and all those who require to equip themselves with the skills and confidence required to provide first aid care to children in an emergency situation. It is designed to assist participants in the treatment of minor accident / incident injuries, lifesaving skills and trained in the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). You’ll gain the vital skills, knowledge and confidence to be able to deal with an emergency in your home.
Please note: This is not a substitution for the FETAC Occupational First Aid course. Occupational First Aid is a certified and intensive 3 day course with more in depth, practical and theoretical examination of the role / responsibilities of the Occupational First Aider.

Course Objectives

On completion of this course the participants will have a basic knowledge of Paediatric First Aid and what to do in the event of an emergency while waiting for a qualified person (Doctor, Ambulance personnel etc) to arrive at the scene.

• Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)

• Fractures & Sprains
• Burns and scalds
• Chemical burns & poisons
• Electrical shock & Home safety
• Medical emergencies, Convulsions, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Spinal injuries

English is the language in which training is delivered and participants must have a good command of the English language. If participants wish to bring an interpreter they may do so but prior notice must be given to Anderco.
